About The Position

MileOne Cares, a part of MileOne Autogroup, is now hiring for our Drive Smart Program. The Drive Smart Program Assistant is a part-time seasonal employee which helps facilitate activities for our Drive Smart program. Ideal candidates have an outgoing personality, enjoy working with teens and are flexible. Drive Smart Maryland is part of our philanthropic program, MileOneCares. Programs occur in the fall and the spring each year. Join our mission to promote safe driving habits among teens across Maryland! As a Drive Smart Outreach Assistant, you’ll travel to high schools to deliver engaging, interactive safety demonstrations that teach students about the dangers of distracted and impaired driving. You’ll lead activities such as our pedal cart experience and assist with the Impaired Driving Simulator. This is an energetic, hands-on role ideal for individuals who are passionate about youth education, traffic safety, and making a positive impact in the community.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and engage actively with youth both indoors and outdoors.
• High energy and enthusiasm for working with pre-teen and teenage students.
• Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
• Reliable transportation and flexibility to travel throughout Maryland.

Responsibilities

• Travel to high schools across Maryland to facilitate Drive Smart program events.
• Educate students on the risks of distracted and impaired driving.
• Lead participants through the pedal cart activity to simulate impaired driving effects.
• Assist with the setup, operation, and cleanup of the Impaired Driving Simulator.
• Represent the Drive Smart program professionally and enthusiastically.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Drive Smart Manager.
