About The Position

The Drinking Water Treatment and Groundwater Systems Senior Analyst at Abt Global Inc. is responsible for supporting projects related to drinking water treatment and groundwater contamination assessment. This role involves assisting the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in evaluating drinking water standards, providing technical assistance to tribal and underserved communities, and engaging in environmental justice analyses. The position emphasizes flexibility and collaboration, allowing for a balance between work and personal life.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree + 5 years of relevant experience, or Master's Degree + 3 years of relevant experience, or PhD + 0 years of relevant experience.
  • Environmental management or other qualitative environmental science degree.
  • Experience working with water utilities and state water programs.
  • An interest in and ability to understand complex drinking water treatment and groundwater management processes.
  • Excellent oral communication, writing, and quantitative analytical skills.
  • Ability to work in team settings by communicating clearly, coordinating analytics staff, meeting deadlines, and exercising initiative to resolve complex challenges.
  • Experience with the water utility sector, Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA), the Clean Water Act (CWA); the Oil Pollution Act (OPA); and/or Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA).

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive literature searches and review and summarize resulting effectiveness data for water treatment processes.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining Excel spreadsheet models for estimating the cost of drinking water regulations.
  • Support environmental justice analyses of drinking water regulations.
  • Lead the preparation of reports, memos, papers, presentations, and other materials for use by senior environmental managers.
  • Work on assignments that are moderately complex under indirect supervision where there is latitude for independent action and decision-making.
  • Review the work of colleagues for accuracy and quality.
  • Provide technical assistance to tribes and underserved communities as it relates to water systems and contaminants.
  • Support community engagement and stakeholder interactions efforts.
  • Support business development efforts, including identifying potential contracting opportunities, engaging with customers to qualify opportunities, and supporting opportunity capture efforts.
  • Keep abreast of trends and developments in related fields.
