About The Position

The Drilling Operator will be responsible for maintaining and operating equipment in the Drilling Department. Duties include ensuring all tools and workspace are clean and properly maintained, following work orders and procedures, and documenting production logs. The operator will also be involved in positioning panels, inspecting parts, and managing tools. The role requires effective communication and adherence to safety protocols.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma is required.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to exert up to 35 lbs. of force occasionally.
  • Good manual dexterity for the use of common office equipment such as computer terminals, calculators, and copiers.
  • Dexterity required for the use of small drill bits.

Responsibilities

  • Clean, maintain, and properly use all equipment, tools, and workspace in the Drilling Department.
  • Follow Work Order/Job Sheets and posted procedures.
  • Sign off travelers, document in daily production log, and scan traveler prior to moving to the next department.
  • Position panels on machine table, flush and align with tooling holes, start operation, and remove boards at the end of the cycle.
  • Check and inspect parts after completion and check backerboard for shallow and missing holes.
  • Check tool sizes and replace dull or expired tools as required.
  • Obtain and put away drills in dull cabinet and mark drills that need to be re-sharpened.
  • Inspect Combo X-ray Drill machine.
  • Flash rout multilayer panels, clean multiline holes on SPOTFACE, and clean sharp edges on BEVELMATE.
  • Pin panels on COMBI 22.
  • Notify supervisor of unusual equipment or operating difficulties.
  • Clean workshop area, including dust particles.
  • Remove trash and debris, including dust particles.
  • Speak, read, and write in English.
  • Attend work in a timely manner; call Attendance Line and supervisor if unable to work on time.
  • Avoid cell phone use while at workstation.
  • Use equipment safely.
  • Empty outside dust collector as per schedule.
  • Work Third Shift schedule.
