As a member of the ECS Group of Companies, you will be responsible for performing standard penetrometer testing operations, which includes conducting borings and geoprobes. You will operate a Geoprobe unit to collect soil and Cone Penetrometer (CPT) data, locate borings in the field, and record all required drilling data. It is essential to report any project-specific issues directly to the project manager or your supervisor. Additionally, you will perform maintenance on the drill rig and support truck, reporting all repair and maintenance issues to the Drilling Supervisor. Troubleshooting mechanical problems, including electrical or hydraulic issues, is also part of your responsibilities. You will follow all company safety procedures and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment for all crew personnel. Each day, you will safely and accurately load the drill rig and support vehicle with the necessary supplies. Planning your daily schedule to meet productivity goals set by the Drilling Supervisor or Office Manager is crucial. You will also need to promptly and accurately complete time sheets and field paperwork, care for and clean assigned company vehicles and drilling equipment, and maintain professional behavior and quality standards. Training and mentoring a Drilling Helper will be part of your role, and you should be willing to work out of town and adhere to non-standard work schedules when required.
