About The Position

This is an entry level position to learn all aspects of Rotary Drill Operations

Requirements

• Ability to work in all weather conditions/ environments:  rain, wind, heat- humidity, muddy, dusty, uneven-rocky terrain.
• Must be physically fit and able to lift 125 pound plus drill bits.
• Able to work independently.
• Demonstrate the basic aptitude to working in and around heavy mining equipment.
• Must be able to work rotating shifts-days and nights.
• Basic ability to speak, read and write English.
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively.
• Comply with established regulations, methods and quality standards related to safety, mining and drilling functions.
• Current, Valid Drivers License
• High School Diploma or GED

Nice To Haves

• Previous drill experience a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the safe operations of various Rotary drills using 9”, 9 7/8”, 10 5/8” drill bits.
• Responsible for Equipment inspections, housekeeping and recordkeeping.
• Operation; monitoring gauges, dials and using levers touch screen, buttons and switches to control leveling, propelling, rotary speed, air pressure and downward pressure according to the rock being drilled to insure the drill is working properly.
• Removing worn drill steel and drill bits and replacing them with new using a truck mounted crane and drill tower sand line.
