About The Position

The Drill Technician is responsible for supporting and executing drilling operations for telecom site construction, including vertical grounding, foundation prep, and utility boring. This field-based role involves operating drilling equipment, assisting with setup and maintenance, and ensuring all work meets safety and quality standards. The Technician must be comfortable working outdoors, in varied terrain, and as part of a mobile civil crew.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
  • Able to lift 50+ lbs, perform manual labor, and work in outdoor conditions.
  • Comfortable working with mechanical and hydraulic systems.
  • Willing to travel frequently and stay overnight as needed.
  • Must pass background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and assist in the setup and breakdown of drill rigs and associated equipment.
  • Perform vertical drill boring and trenchless conduit installation.
  • Install ground rods, conduits, and other buried infrastructure as directed.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot drill equipment, tools, and vehicles.
  • Monitor bore paths and soil conditions to ensure safe and accurate drilling.
  • Load/unload materials and tools at job sites.
  • Follow drill logs, site layouts, and work instructions from supervisors.
  • Ensure safe work zones and compliance with OSHA and company policies.
  • Accurately document drilling activities, materials, and site conditions.
  • Travel to remote sites across the Southeast U.S., including overnight stays.
