About The Position

The Drill Helper position at Geotechnical Innovation, PLLC involves assisting the Driller in various drilling activities, including soil drilling, rock coring, and monitoring well installation. The role requires a strong commitment to safety and teamwork, as well as the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. The Drill Helper will also be responsible for maintaining and cleaning drilling equipment and ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and safely.

Requirements

• Valid Driver's License (Required)
• Reliable transportation to and from work
• Consistently prompt and able to report to work daily with minimal absenteeism
• Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to follow work instructions and complete assigned tasks
• Positive team-oriented attitude
• Ability to work off shifts and overtime
• Ability to lift, move, push, and pull up to 50 pounds frequently, and over 50 pounds with assistance
• Ability to kneel and squat occasionally
• Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time
• Ability to screw and unscrew steel rods with dual dexterity and handle heavy tools.

Responsibilities

• Assist Driller to perform various drilling activities such as soil drilling, rock coring, and monitoring well installation.
• Load and unload drilling equipment as needed.
• Prepare tooling and supplies for daily tasks.
• Assemble and disassemble steel rods, augers, and other drilling equipment repetitively.
• Handle and utilize pumps, generators, and hydraulically-powered and electrical tools and equipment.
• Maintain and clean tooling, and organize and store equipment properly.
• Adhere to safety practices and policies to ensure personal and team safety.
• Act as an assistant to the lead operator to help perform routine drilling tasks.
• Drive medium duty trucks to various job sites.
