About the position
We are seeking energetic, passionate people who enjoy the outdoors and want to play a key role for the position of Dredge Operator 2 within the Division of Parks & Watercraft, headquartered at Buckeye Lake State Park, assigned to Fairfield county. Please note this is a travel position, and will travel statewide weekly due to park needs. You are also required to have a Commercial Driver's License, Class A or B with no restrictions.
Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment to maintain dredge material relocation areas (DMRA's) & lake improvement projects.
- Remove sediment & aquatic vegetation from waterways.
- Operate dredge related equipment such as tandem dump truck, pickup truck.
Requirements
- 12 months training or 12 months experience in heavy equipment operation & maintenance.
- 6 months training or 6 months experience in equipment safety practices.
- Valid commercial driver's license.
- Or 12 months experience as Dredge Operator 1, 54421; valid commercial driver's license.
- Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.
Benefits
- Starting hourly pay of $20.71/hr with multiple pay increases over your first 3.5 years of service with an end salary of $22.88/hr.
