About The Position

The Apprentice Drain Technician is an entry-level, field-based role responsible for assisting in the maintenance, cleaning, and repair of residential and commercial drainage systems. This role involves supporting experienced technicians in operating specialized drain cleaning equipment, inspecting plumbing and drainage systems, and performing tasks in compliance with safety and environmental standards. This position may require early morning or evening shifts based on customer needs. At PSI, Inc., we believe every team member either performs the work or supports those who do. The ideal candidate is dependable, mechanically curious, comfortable in field environments, and ready to grow into a skilled drain technician.

Requirements

  • Interest in learning plumbing and drain system repair.
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn equipment operation.
  • Valid driver’s license; CDL is a plus but not required.
  • Ability to work independently and follow instructions carefully.
  • Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting tools and equipment.
  • Strong attention to safety, quality, and professionalism.

Responsibilities

  • Assist experienced technicians in operating drain cleaning and inspection equipment, such as snakes, hydro-jetters, and cameras.
  • Help with clearing clogs, debris removal, and minor repairs under supervision.
  • Set up and clean equipment before and after service.
  • Load, transport, and unload tools and equipment safely to job sites.
  • Record service details, including materials used and work completed.
