About The Position

A draftsman will check working plans and detail drawings from rough or detailed sketches or notes by performing the following duties: Essential Duties and Responsibilities includes the following: Checking dimension of parts, materials to be used, relation of one part to another, and relation of various parts to a whole structure or project. Utilize knowledge of various machines, engineering practices, mathematics, building materials, and other physical sciences to review drawings. Discusses any adjustments or changes necessary or desired with drafters. Trains drafters on recognizing errors and corrections needed. Draws charts for representation of statistical data. Has the ability to draw finished designs from sketches. Uses computer assisted drafting (CAD) equipment and software. (SOLIDWORKS) Designs and implements a set of standards. Other duties as assigned. Comprehensive in 3D is a must. Language Skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Mathematical Skills Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Auto Cad Design software. (SOLIDWORKS) Basic data entry and document handling Proficiency in Word, Excel and Web Apps Basic proficiency in an ERP System such as Epicor is a plus Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Requirements
