The Position: To provide multidisciplinary design, drafting and construction management support for the engineering group and maintain the site's technical library.

  • The use of AutoCAD, MicroStation, Inventor and Plant 3D, to provide support to meet sites needs for drawing updates via technical request, management of change request and individual request from a manager or co-worker.
  • Will perform field walk downs for drawing verification of dimensions as required.
  • Project management support: to take a proposed concept of improvement and assist with the associated engineering drawing updates.
  • Convert as-built equipment information to an electronic format and be able to supply the engineering and maintenance departments with the information when requested.
  • Provide engineering support services to address MOC action items and processes through implementation if approved.
  • Must be able to work in a self-directed manor, working with minimum supervision and be able to manage their time when given multiple tasks.
  • 2-year degree preferred or professional certification.
  • Minimum of 2 years of AutoCAD drawing experience.
  • AutoCAD experience required, AutoCAD-3D experience preferred.
  • AutoCAD Plant 3D experience is a plus.
  • Must be proficient in the use of all Microsoft Office software modules, including Word, Excel, Access Database, etc.
  • Working knowledge of ISA standards associated with Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
  • Piping, civil, structural and electrical design skills are a plus.
  • Willing to learn standards and specifications required to adhere to the ASME, ANSI, ASTM, etc. codes and standards typical of a chemical manufacturing site.
  • Critical thinking skills to help the engineering team by spotting problems with plans and designs.
  • Detail-oriented to ensure plans are technically accurate to the outlined specifications.
  • Interpersonal skills to work closely with engineers and other designers.
  • Math skills for solving mathematical calculations involving angles, weights, and costs.
  • Time management skills to work efficiently according to set schedules.
