Drafting Technician

TAMCO Group is a USA-based manufacturer specializing in electrical and lighting products, including lighting fixtures, controls, lamps, and various electrical installation products. We are currently seeking a motivated Drafting Technician to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing engineering drafting, documentation, and assistance to support the engineering department. This role is crucial in ensuring that our products are designed and documented accurately, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of our manufacturing processes. As a Drafting Technician, you will be expected to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports. You will utilize various drafting tools and software, including SolidWorks and CAD, to develop manufacturing drawings of our products. This includes preparing assembly procedures, decal locations, exploded views, parts lists, and repair manuals. You will also be responsible for recommending design modifications to eliminate potential malfunctions in our systems and products. Collaboration with engineers will be essential, as you will discuss existing and potential engineering projects and products, ensuring that all specifications and standards are met. In addition to drafting responsibilities, you will perform detailed calculations to establish manufacturing, construction, or installation standards. You will assist Fabrication Shop engineers in building the drawings that have been designed, ensuring that all documentation is accurate and up-to-date. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who can work independently and as part of a team, maintaining a clean and organized working area while displaying enthusiasm and pride in their work.
