About The Position

The Drafting Technician is responsible for creating precise technical drawings and plans using Revit software. This role supports engineers and project managers in the design and documentation of systems and components across various disciplines. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.

Requirements

  • Familiarity in Revit and Microsoft Office; knowledge of other CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) is a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural, mechanical, and technical drawings.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Must be able to travel up to 5% of the time, if required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate degree or technical certification in drafting, engineering technology, or a related field preferred.
  • Required to stand, walk, and sit.
  • Talk or hear, both in person and by telephone.
  • Use hand (s) and fingers to handle or feel objects or controls.
  • Reach with hand (s) and arm (s).
  • Regularly required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, and lift to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree or technical certification in drafting, engineering technology, or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and modify detailed technical drawings and layouts from engineering specifications and sketches.
  • Coordinate with engineers and designers to resolve design challenges and ensure drawing accuracy.
  • Review and incorporate markups/redlines from the design team or field personnel.
  • Calculate dimensions, weights, and tolerances using mathematical formulas and engineering data.
  • Specify materials, manufacturing processes, and assembly procedures where applicable.
  • Utilize CAD software to prepare, update, and organize electronic drawings and files.
  • Maintain drawing and file organization consistent with company standards.
  • Prepare variations of designs for approval and review.
  • Participate in design coordination meetings as needed to present and explain drawing content.
  • Support the development of as-built documentation.
