About The Position

Interacts with professional land surveyors and engineers by utilizing various software and equipment to produce electronic data and hard copy drawings. Completes more difficult assignments and assists lower-level drafting technicians. Maintains, stores and manipulates electronic data. Note: Position may be required to work extended hours, including 24x7 coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 5 - 7 years experience in mechanical drawing and/or drafting, with at least three years in computer aided drafting (CAD)
• Advanced computer aided drafting capabilities
• Ability to complete complicated drawings
• Proficient in AutoCad

Responsibilities

• Update electric and gas facility maps using MicroStation, lrasB and GIS (G/Tech) (50%)
• Utilize Asset Suite 8 to research affected documents (pending map updates) with all associated EC's (engineering changes) (15%)
• Verify as-built information by performing field investigations (15%)
• Maintain all CAD drawings for BGE Electric Construction Standards (10%)
• Emergency response support for storms, including dispatching screeners and interacting with customers (10%)
