About The Position

Hartzell Propeller, founded in 1917 and headquartered in Piqua, Ohio, is the global leader in advanced aircraft propeller design and manufacturing for general aviation. Requirements

  • Two-year technical degree in Drafting and Design Technology or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience with 2D & 3D CAD software, including proficiency in SolidWorks 2021 Mechanical and AutoCAD 2014 or later. SolidWorks Certification CSWA or CSWP preferred, but not required.
  • Experience with ASME Y14.5 and Global Engineering Standards.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Experience with various forms of hard gauging such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, etc.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts and fundamentals of geometry and trigonometry.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with aviation related products and the FAA regulatory system.
  • Experience working in an Engineering/Manufacturing environment.
  • A good understanding of mechanical structures and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

  • Generate models and drawings for components or assemblies based on measurements taken from components, sketches or 2D drawings.
  • Process engineering change requests via SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
  • Use accepted design techniques including GD&T to modify or create drawings.
  • Create and modify all affected areas on detail and assembly drawings such as bills of material (BOM), revisions blocks, notes, charts, line styles, part orientations, projection, dimensions and tolerances.
