About The Position

Electrical Consultants, Inc. (ECI), a leading power engineering consultant firm, is seeking a motivated individual to join their Denver, CO office as a drafter. The successful candidate will work under general supervision, utilizing computer-aided drafting and other compatible software tools to support engineering and drafting projects. The goal of the position is to develop sub-professional work knowledge and abilities by executing drafter assignments under the supervision of an experienced project engineer or project manager. Work responsibilities include creating drawings of general arrangements, structures, facilities, site plans, facility layouts, electrical schematics, wiring, and connection requirements.

Requirements

  • College degree in an acceptable curriculum or two-year technical certificate in computer-aided drafting/design, or a minimum of two years concentrated on the job experience in computer-aided drafting/design field
  • Proven effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven excellent level of interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work individually and on a team
  • Detail oriented
  • Possess a high level of organizational skills
  • Proven ability to work with confidential information
  • Proven ability to exercise independent judgment
  • Occasional travel/driving may be required
  • Successful applicant is subject to ECI’s auto insurance carrier requirements
  • Applicants must not require sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B visa status) now or in the future

  • Experience with AutoCAD and MicroStation/Bentley Connect

Responsibilities

  • Performing drafting work manually or by using a computer requiring knowledge and skills in drafting methods, procedures and techniques
  • Using a recognized system of symbols, legends, shadings, lines and layering in accordance with ECI Drafting Standards
  • Preparing as-built drawings from red-line copies
  • Preparing error-free revisions of preexisting CADD files
  • Performing a variety of assignments which may include drawing reproduction, handling material supplies and other similar work
