The Engineering Drafter supports engineering and manufacturing teams by creating and maintaining accurate, detailed drawings using SolidWorks. This role emphasizes effective use of SolidWorks PDM for data control, application of GD&T principles, and creation of SolidWorks Inspection outputs to support quality and inspection processes. The drafter ensures designs meet engineering standards, are properly documented, and are ready for production.

  • Collaborate with senior engineers and drafters to create detailed technical drawings using SolidWorks software.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of engineering documentation, including bills of materials (BOMs), assembly instructions, and technical specifications.
  • Learn and apply drafting standards and best practices to ensure accuracy, clarity, and compliance with industry guidelines.
  • Gain proficiency in SolidWorks PDM (Product Data Management) software to manage and organize engineering data, revision control, and document workflow.
  • Review and modify existing drawings to incorporate Engineering Changes and improvements under the guidance of senior team members.
  • Support the engineering team in conducting design reviews, prototype testing, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as manufacturing, quality assurance, and procurement, to ensure smooth production processes.
  • Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance your technical skills, product knowledge, and understanding of Silencercos' engineering processes.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including drawings, models, and Engineering Change records.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in engineering drafting practices.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic understanding of engineering principles, technical drawings, and manufacturing processes.
  • Understanding of ASME Y14.5 2018 GD&T principles and guidelines.
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software, with a focus on SolidWorks.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate, high-quality drawings and models.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Be able to adhere to strict deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to collaborate with team members and present technical information clearly.
  • Eagerness to learn, a proactive attitude, and a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team-oriented environment.
  • Post-secondary education in engineering, drafting, or a related field is preferred.
  • Prior experience with SolidWorks PDM is an advantage, but not required.
  • Familiarity with Silencercos' products and a genuine interest in the industry is a plus.
  • Willingness to adapt and learn new software tools and technologies as required.
