About The Position
This position focuses on creating and updating technical drawings, maintaining accurate documentation, and ensuring compliance with engineering standards to support the successful execution of projects. Develops detailed and schematic drawings of structures, electrical and mechanical systems using specialized software to ensure accuracy, availability of reliable information, and compliance with engineering standards during project execution. Executes field visits to verify data accuracy, ensuring that technical drawings and documentation are based on reliable, real-world information. Maintains updated drawings and records of electrical and mechanical installations to facilitate proper planning, control of modifications and improvements, accurate tracking, and future reference. Follows technical procedures and safety protocols to complete tasks accurately and maintain compliance. Troubleshoots and resolves technical issues to restore service and support operational continuity. Follows established company policies, procedures, and standards to ensure full compliance with applicable laws and industry regulations. Participates in storm restoration tasks and assigned drills to contribute to the safe and reliable recovery of services. Performs additional tasks aligned with role expectations and qualifications to support team goals and operational flexibility.
Requirements
- Technical Degree or associate’s degree in Drafting or related field.
- 1–3 years of hands-on experience as a draftsman/designer in the engineering field in a technical or support role.
- Experience working with AutoCAD, 3D modeling, Adobe Acrobat, or software relevant to the field.
- Precision and attention to detail in measurements, scales, and tolerances.
- Capacity to analyze technical specifications and translate them into functional drawings.
- Teamwork with engineers, technicians, and other departments.
- Effective communication to coordinate changes and clarify requirements.
- Adaptability to project changes and shifting priorities.
- Time management to meet delivery deadlines.
- Proficiency in CAD software for design and editing drawings.
- Interpretation and preparation of electrical drawings
- Knowledge of electrical codes and standards (NEC, NESC, IEEE, ANSI) and local regulations.
- Management of technical documentation and version control.
- Basic knowledge of surveying and GIS systems for project location.
- Valid driver license.
- Drafter License as issued by the Board of Examiners of Professional Draftsmen of Puerto Rico.
