About The Position

Sewer Equipment is currently seeking applicants for a Drafting Internship position at our Dixon, IL manufacturing facility. JOB TITLE : Drafting Intern Responsibilities include: Use of mechanical design software to create complete, organized, and detailed drawings of parts, weldments, and assemblies. Identify a variety of structural, plumbing, and electrical parts and compare against a bill of materials. Create and execute Engineering Change Notifications (ECNs) that fully document and instruct action items to be taken. Support the manufacturing and testing of machines as required. Manage multiple projects at a time from beginning to end.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical design or related field from an accredited institution or be working toward the completion thereof.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to conceptualize and create mechanical designs.
• Proficiency in using 2D and 3D CAD design software.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, and Autodesk Vault preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to articulate clearly mechanical concepts and designs.
• Must be highly motivated, detail oriented, and organized.
• Must be able to work in fast paced environment to meet deadlines and commitments.
• Must be able to work as part of a team and independently.
• Strong knowledge of material and manufacturing processes.
• 0-2 years of in field engineering experience.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, and Autodesk Vault preferred.
