Magazine and industry leader PSMJ. The Opportunity: McKinley Architecture and Engineering is seeking an experienced Electrical Designer to join our team. As a full-time member of our engineering department, you will “hit the ground running” in a dynamic role, working directly with our engineering and architectural staff. This position is an excellent fit for someone with an advanced technological skillset, who will contribute to our design process and learn from the firm's seasoned professional engineering staff. Work Environment: While this is an on-site role, we offer some flexibility for remote work based on the needs of our projects and the experience level of the candidate.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design of building electrical systems including utility power, building distribution, lighting, low voltage data, fire alarm, access and security.
  • Work efficiently and effectively on assigned tasks to support meeting schedules, design budgets, and overall company goals.
  • Develop a working knowledge of building codes and industry standards.
  • Adhere to the standards set forth by design professionals, and in turn, build competency in the role.
  • Work within a diverse team of professionals across multiple building trades, communicating and collaborating effectively.
  • Contribute to the growth and development of the Engineering Department by finding new ways to add value, leverage technology, innovate, etc.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree with an Engineering focus (Bachelor’s Degree preferred)
  • Strong design skills with a proficiency in Revit
  • 3+ years of experience in designing building electrical power and lighting systems
  • Strong communicator that can speak design concepts across projects and teams
  • Passion for learning and an innate drive to develop one's knowledge, skills, and abilities
