About The Position

KBR is seeking a DRAFTER / CAD Operator to support our SPACE SUIT for KBR’s Science and Space division. This is a temporary position for six months The DRAFTER / CAD Operator will work on a collaborative team developing, building and maintaining Space Suits and supporting equipment for low Earth orbit and beyond.

Requirements

  • Candidates must meet the requirements listed below to be considered for this position; please note required items on your resume. This position requires U.S. Citizenship due to the sensitivity of customer related information.
  • Education: Must have a associate’s degree in the field of Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD), or a related field.
  • Years of Experience: Must have minimum of 1 years of recent and related work experience. In lieu of degree : Candidates with 5 years of relevant work experience will be considered.
  • Candidate must possess excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, leadership, and team working skills.
  • Demonstrated skill in using computer-aided design (CAD)/drafting equipment and software in design work.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate well with peers and cross-functional teams and external customers.
  • Excellent computer skills (MS Windows & Office)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Solidworks, Draftsite and PDM
  • Ability to examine and measure finished articles to verify conformance to standards
  • Familiarity with JSC-STD-8080, Design and Procedural Standards

Responsibilities

  • Using CAD software, such as Draftsite and SolidWorks, prepare models technical drawings
  • Working with engineers and other professionals to produce drawings that meet their specifications
  • Writing related technical documents such as material lists and cost estimates
  • Ensuring that all drawings are accurate and meet industry standards
  • Maintaining a library of standard drawing templates
  • Updating existing drawings as new information becomes available
  • Prepare and present designs at various design reviews using MS Word and PowerPoint
  • Produce other required design documentation
  • Understand nominal production processes
  • Manage multiple issues at one time and develop an integrated solution
