About The Position

General Responsibilities Prepares complete drawings of structures, systems, parts or equipment from sketches. Able to create 3D models from sketches and other provided data. Thoroughly knowledgeable with all tools of the trade (CAD program, rulers, compass, divider, calculator etc.) and completely knowledge of drafting standards. Revises the original drawings of Electrical, Electronic, Structural or Mechanical system drawings based on As-Installed data. Selects required information from precedence, manufacturers catalogs, and technical guides. Ability to select material or components required for specific electrical, mechanical or structural drawing. Independently resolves most problems encountered. Ability to prepare a complete drawing package with minimal supervision. Ability to independently Site Visit vessels and shore sites to gather technical data for drawing development. Calculates Weight and Moments changes as a result of drawing. Selects proper material and hardware for structural members. Works with Electrical/Mechanical engineers for stress/electrical/mechanical calculations. Ability to perform shock analysis is a plus. Thorough knowledge of Model Space/Paper Space techniques. Ability to utilize World Wide Web for research. Skilled in assisting with training of junior drafters. Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills & Experience Knowledge of all Government and Commercial Design and Drafting requirements. Computer literacy, including use of word-processing, spreadsheet, database software. Requirements

  • Knowledge of all Government and Commercial Design and Drafting requirements.
  • Computer literacy, including use of word-processing, spreadsheet, database software.
  • Intimately knowledgeable with Designing and Drafting Software.
  • Seasoned oral and written communication skills.
  • Capacity to sustain keen attention to detail.
  • 4+ years experience in the Drafting and Design field.
  • Associate's Degree or the equivalent combination of education; professional training; or work/military experience.
  • 4+ years of experience.
  • Must be able to obtain/maintain Secret clearance
  • US Citizenship require.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to perform shock analysis is a plus.
