About The Position

Stressbar Steel System International (SSSI) is looking for a highly motivated Individual who can create strong relationships with consulting engineering firms and construction companies. Must be experienced with AutoCAD. SSSI provides Engineers and contractors with a great line of high-strength reinforcing threaded bars used in the construction of large projects such as high-rise buildings, bridges, and tunnels. The drafter is responsible for executing shop drawings and assisting the project manager with material acquisition, cost, logistics, and technical support.

Requirements

  • College – BS degree
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and implement detailed solutions to complex technical problems involving multiple technologies.
  • Ability to technically advise and troubleshoot.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multi-functional teams.
  • Leadership and strong influencing skills.
  • Ability to coach and motivate the team, resulting in high performance, high engagement.
  • Occasionally travel is required (typically less than 10% of the time).
  • Proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Excel, Project, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to comprehend and translate Architectural, Structural, and Process Drawings.
  • Strong communication skills, with an emphasis on working in a team environment.
  • Must possess problem-solving abilities and have the confidence to make decisions independently.
  • Must be experienced with Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare structural shop drawings and rebar detailing to ensure conformance with design specifications, compliance with applicable codes and standards, and product reliability.
  • Visit project sites to observe field conditions, evaluate design constraints, and resolve problems.
  • Preparation and review of plans and drawings.
  • Assists in the preparation of cost estimates for materials.
  • Assists in the design of civil engineering projects.
  • Performs detailed drafting work.
  • Maintains engineering and related records and files.
  • Prepares and distributes a description and timeline of the project.
  • Studies product design, customer requirements performance standards, then determines project specifications.
  • Presents cost estimates.
  • Reviews contractor bids and negotiates with vendors;
  • Through project coordination meetings and other forms of communication, overseas, and coordinates the technical aspects of the project.
