About The Position

Requirements

• Valid Texas driver license required, or must obtain one within specified time frames after moving to Texas.
• Working knowledge of TXDPS regulations and policies.
• Ability to exercise poise, tact, and diplomacy in customer interactions.
• Organizational skills to prioritize tasks in a changing environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

• Cash handling experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Receive and review license and permit applications.
• Ensure compliance with applicable policies, administrative codes, and statutes.
• Communicate with external and internal customers regarding licensing procedures.
• Administer driver license tests and answer inquiries from the public.
• Input applications and payments into computer systems and databases.
• Collect license fees and prepare receipts, ensuring accountability for funds received.
• Issue licenses and permits, and process denied applications accordingly.
• Verify the authenticity of documents presented by applicants.
• Provide administrative and technical assistance related to licensing requirements.
• Schedule applicants for driving tests and operate testing machines.
