About The Position

Requirements

• Valid Texas driver license required; must obtain within specified time if moving from out of state.
• Certified Commercial Knowledge Examiner (CCKE) certification required; must complete Certified Commercial Examiner (CCE) within six months after promotion.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the receipt and review of license and permit applications, revisions, and renewals.
• Review license and permit applications, payments, and technical data for accuracy and completeness.
• Ensure compliance with administrative codes, state statutes, and agency policies.
• Issue licenses and permits and collect license fees.
• Handle complex transactions related to Commercial Driver Licenses (CDL) and other specialized cases.
• Communicate with the public and resolve customer service issues.
• Provide administrative and technical assistance regarding license and permit requirements.
• Conduct comprehensive examinations and administer driving tests.
• Train, monitor, and supervise the work of others as needed.
• Investigate applications/forms to ensure compliance with legal requirements.
