About The Position

DPI SAFE Home Program Development Intern The Development, Policy, and Impact (DPI) team serves as an internal resource supporting all aspects of Self-Help's mission. DPI’s work encompasses fundraising through grants, debt, and deposits. It also includes business development via local community partnerships and outreach, policy advocacy on CDFI and credit union practices at federal, state, and local levels, and impact evaluation to assess effectiveness and guide program and product development. By securing funding, driving policy change, and providing internal evaluation services, the DPI team ensures Self-Help’s mission is achieved while supporting innovation and growth. What You’ll Do: The DPI intern will support ongoing efforts to strengthen and expand the SAFE Home Program, which helps members build savings to cover emergency expenses. This work will build on insights gathered from Self-Help’s current partnership with ideas42, which is applying behavioral science to increase uptake in the program. Help identify opportunities to improve program design and communication strategies. Assist in improving SAFE program materials, processes, and outreach strategies based on behavioral insights. Help to expand interactions with SAFE Home participants, potentially through a curated webpage and featuring a range of client-facing materials and opportunities for engagement Grant Prospecting and Research: Identify and research potential funding opportunities to support SAFE’s expansion and sustainability.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate or graduate student, recent graduates welcome to apply
  • Demonstrate a sincere interest in non-profit work, education, advocacy, or social work
