Dozer/ Excavator Operator
About The Position
Our company is searching for an experienced Dozer/Excavator Operator to join our team. This role operates levels, scoops soil, and controls the direction and angle of the equipment to move rocks and debris. The individual operates a crawler or rubber-tired machine mounted with an excavator bucket used for excavating ditches, structures and mass excavations, laying pipe and precast concrete structures, loading trucks. We are looking for an individual who is efficient and comfortable being a member of a team. Requirements
- One year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Able to meet the physical requirements of the position which involves sitting, standing, bending, climbing, lifting up to 50 pounds, working at heights, in confined spaces and in all types of weather conditions such as rain, snow, heat, etc.
Responsibilities
- Conducting safety and maintenance checks on assigned equipment and machinery
- Starting engines, moving throttles, switches, and levers, and depressing pedals to operate machines
- Signaling truck driver(s) to position truck(s) to facilitate loading of dirt, rocks, and other materials
- Taking actions to avoid potential hazards and obstructions such as utility lines, other equipment, and falling objects
- Performing maintenance work to equipment including oiling, greasing, and making necessary adjustments
