About The Position

Goodwill Northern New England is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping individuals facing barriers to employment find meaningful work opportunities. As a downstroke operator, you will be responsible for compacting textiles in a special machine that compresses the textiles for bailing. This role requires the safe and efficient use of the downstroke machine, along with compliance with safety guidelines and operational checklists. Requirements

• Must be over the age of 18.
• Ability to lift and handle materials.
• Strong attention to safety and detail.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and processes.
• Positive attitude and team player mentality.
• Must pass a pre-employment background check.

Nice To Haves

• Prior warehouse and equipment operation experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain the downstroke machine for compressing textiles.
• Safely load and place materials into the downstroke.
• Ensure all safety guidelines and procedures are followed.
• Perform pre and post-operational checklists on equipment.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
• Collaborate with team members to achieve daily production goals.
