About The Position

Are you a detail-oriented operator with a knack for precision and a drive to optimize production? We are looking for a dedicated Double-Backer Operator to be a central part of our high-speed corrugator team. In this hands-on role, you will not just run the machine—you'll be the expert ensuring superior quality, maximum efficiency, and smooth operations from setup to final product. If you are ready to take ownership of a critical phase in our manufacturing process, we want to hear from you! As the Double-Backer Operator, you will be the master of the machine, responsible for the entire double-backer process, from material staging to final quality checks.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Proven mathematical ability to quickly read a tape measure and calculate figures such as percentages, volume, and rate.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to apply common sense understanding to detailed written or oral instructions.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing equipment design, product quality specifications, and production layouts.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior work experience in the corrugated industry.
  • At least 6 months of experience on the dry end of a corrugator.

Responsibilities

  • Expert Setup & Operation: Perform precision setup of bridge guides and the glue station, ensuring the machine is perfectly aligned for each run.
  • Quality Control & Precision: Monitor and adjust machine settings for tension, alignment, adhesion, and warp control mid-run to maintain our high-quality standards.
  • Material Management: Handle paper roll stock, confirm correct sizing and grade, expertly execute necessary splices, and ensure efficient material usage.
  • Maximize Efficiency: Proactively operate the double-backer at maximum available capacity and speed, in sync with the overall corrugator flow to meet ambitious production goals.
  • Maintenance & Improvement: Perform routine cleaning (starch pans, glue rolls, etc.), identify and report necessary equipment repairs, and proactively recommend process improvements to boost performance.
  • Documentation & Teamwork: Accurately complete production, quality, and safety reports. You'll also work closely with the Corrugator Operator and help train new dry-end personnel.
