About The Position

The dotCMS Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing enterprise-level content management solutions using the dotCMS platform. The architect works closely with development teams, providing guidance on best practices, integration strategies, and system upgrades. CapTech is passionate about the work they do and the results they achieve for their clients, working alongside Fortune 100 companies, mid-sized enterprises, and government agencies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • Proven experience architecting and implementing solutions with dotCMS or similar CMS platforms
  • Strong expertise in Java, RESTful APIs, and web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
  • Experience with cloud hosting environments, DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams
  • Knowledge of security standards and performance optimization for web applications

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Experience with enterprise-level CMS migrations and digital transformation projects
  • Certified Java Developer or other industry-recognized certifications
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Background in Agile methodologies and project management tools
  • Experience integrating dotCMS with CRM, ERP, or marketing automation platforms
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a track record of innovative solutions

Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical design and architecture of dotCMS implementations for web and digital solutions.
  • Work with business and IT teams to gather requirements and translate them into robust, scalable solutions.
  • Develop integration strategies with third-party systems, APIs, and legacy platforms.
  • Establish standards for coding, deployment, and system maintenance to ensure quality and reliability.
  • Mentor and support developers, reviewing code and assisting with troubleshooting complex issues.
  • Stay current with dotCMS updates and industry best practices to recommend improvements and new features.
