General Summary The DOT Mechanic is responsible for performing inspections, maintenance and repairs specifically on vehicles regulated under DOT.

Requirements

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent years of experience
• Must have a valid driver’s license class B driver and any endorsements are a plus.
• Diesel or Automotive Technology certification or equivalent experience
• Minimum 1 year of experience with DOT or FMCSA regulations
• Minimum 1 year diesel experience
• Knowledge and proficiency with DOT inspection standards
• Training or experience in maintaining and inspecting commercial motor vehicles.
• Ability to work irregular hours and respond to after hours emergency calls as needed
• Strong organizations skills
• Comply, understand, and support corporate safety initiatives to ensure a safe work environment
• Ability and willingness to abide by the Company’s Code of Conduct on a daily basis

Nice To Haves

• Forklift, crane and welding certifications a plus.
• Previous drilling experience and knowledge of work industry a plus

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and inspections on vehicles regulated by the DOT
• Service trucks and equipment to meet DOT requirements
• Troubleshoot and repair various electrical assemblies
• Rebuild replace or repair drill rigs parts and ancillary equipment
• Locate and requisition parts for repairs
• Understand and implement laws and regulations on transportation and safety
• Keep shop, equipment and tools in safe operating condition
• Maintain accurate information for payroll reporting
• Regional travel around South Louisiana and Mississippi; home nightly.
