About The Position

Atlas – specializes in the manufacture of quality engineered polyiso insulation, specialty products, and accessories. Atlas leads the industry in polyiso insulation boards and facer technology and performance in commercial and residential buildings. Atlas Roof Insulation & Wall is seeking a DOT Driver for the LaGrange, GA. facility.

Requirements

  • Ability to comprehend, in English, written or oral simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
  • Ability to write, in English, simple correspondence.
  • Ability to present, in English, information one on one or in small groups to customers, clients, management, vendors and other Atlas employees.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Have a thorough understanding of all safety equipment, policies, procedures and precautions in the specific work area and plant-wide.
  • Have a thorough knowledge of all machinery controls, functions, operation and life safety systems.
  • Have a thorough understanding of all DOT rules and regulations.
  • Have a thorough understanding of entering log information on computer tablets (ELD). Understanding DOT policies and procedures for reporting all information.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • CDL license and successful completion of the pre-employment physical and drug/alcohol screening in accordance with the DOT regulations.
  • Must have a good driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with all Department of Transportation (DOT), Federal and state laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for safely transporting product and ensure it is safely loaded and unloaded for customer delivery without damage.
  • Obtains bill of lading from Shipping office with loading specifications and gives paperwork to Atlas loader.
  • Observes and communicates with loader to assure correct product and placement for shipment to customer.
  • Straps product securely using 2 straps per unit.
  • Tarps/untarps load if required.
  • Review delivery schedules to confirm locations and times.
  • Deliver product on time as required.
  • Maintain all paperwork, detention slips, licenses, physicals, etc.
  • Use and maintain all Electronic Logging Devices (ELD’s).
  • Train temporary employees and new hires.
  • Responsible for keeping all equipment and surrounding areas clean and well organized.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
  • Regular, consistent physical attendance.
  • Ability to change and/or rotate shifts on an as needed basis.
