Sutter Medical Foundation (SMF) is seeking a Dosimetrist III to join our dynamic and innovative Radiation Oncology team. SMF operates four clinics across the Sacramento Valley, equipped with cutting-edge technology including 7 matching Varian Truebeams, 5 Philips Brilliance Big Bore CT scanners, Gamma Knife, Varian Bravos HDR, AlignRT, and ExacTrac. Our treatment planning infrastructure currently includes MIM Masetro and Pinnacle TPS, with a planned migration to Raystation TPS in the coming months. While prior Raystation experience is preferred, it's not mandatory for this role. At SMF, we cultivate a collaborative environment that prioritizes innovation, quality, and patient safety. This position will join a team of 7 other dosimetrists, 10 physicists, and 11 physicians to provide high quality, professional and compassionate radiation therapy dosimetry work, under the direction of leadership. This position is thoroughly familiar with the physical and geometric characteristics of radiation equipment and has the training and expertise necessary to generate image-based computerized treatment plans based on protocols and methods established by the radiation oncologists and medical physicists and administers quality control programs in conjunction with the physicist and radiation therapists in the department. Remote work available for CA residents only.

  • Generate image-based computerized treatment plans based on protocols and methods established by radiation oncologists and medical physicists.
  • Administer quality control programs in conjunction with physicists and radiation therapists.
  • Evaluate treatment plans for clinical value and acceptability in clinical situations.
  • Coordinate essential activities in workflow for radiation therapy treatments.
  • Follow instruction and documented procedures in performing tasks on computer workstations accurately and efficiently.
  • Communicate technical aspects of radiation oncology and medical physics to radiation oncologists and radiation therapists.
  • Interpret and execute treatment plans as defined in relevant treatment protocols.
  • Bachelor of Science in Physics related field or equivalent education/experience.
  • CMD-Certified Medical Dosimetrist upon hire.
  • 5 years dosimetry experience in a progressive radiation oncology department.
  • Ability to understand technical aspects of radiation oncology and medical physics.
  • Mathematical skills including algebra and trigonometry.
  • Ability to visualize objects in three-dimensional concepts.
  • Prior experience with Raystation TPS.
