The Léman Manhattan Residential Life Program is now seeking a Dorm Parent who is a fluent Mandarin Chinese speaker. This position involves overseeing all tasks related to the students’ residential experience at Léman Manhattan. Our Dorm Parents are responsible for cultivating a safe, nurturing, structured, and comfortable environment for students while ensuring that students adhere to the program’s expectations. Developing strong relationships with the boarding students, grounded in compassion, mutual respect, and consistency, is essential to the Dorm Parent position. Dorm Parents must be willing to take a proactive and hands-on approach toward working with students to solve problems and conflicts and to offer disciplinary and moral guidance when necessary. In short, Dorm Parents are expected to offer the same level of care and attention that a good parent would to their own child. This is a full-time 10-month position whose work schedule covers the times when students are not in classes. This position is either a live-in or live-out role, with the live-in option receiving on-site 12-month private housing accommodations in exchange for additional after-hours on-call programmatic support. This position predominantly works weekday afternoons and evenings, and some weekend shifts on a rotational basis during the school year.
