About The Position

The primary function of the Estimator is to prepare work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents. Identifies labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents. Computes costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements. Duties & Responsibilities Grow commercial sales, within company footprint. Identify potential jobs and customers, build a relationship with these customers, and close the bid work with them. Work with our current general line sales team to close jobs. Communicate with management all opportunities for growth of our team and product lines. Facilitate leads through General Contractors, End Users, and Institutions. Conduct take-offs accurately and timely. Review specifications to ensure Inform management of market conditions and means to better our door division. Work with vendor reps to ensure CBMI receives the best possible costs. Conduct diligent follow up on all quotes and track, via spreadsheets, the reasons why we were successful or not. Conduct site visits to confirm all conditions that could affect ordering or installation. Prepare all submittals for approval by owner and architect. Order and track all material for projects. Oversee inventory for all door divisions. Product sales – commercial doors, hollow metal frames, wood doors, hardware, lock sets, toilet partitions and accessories, lockers, fire extinguishers/ cabinets, mailboxes.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of related work experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent advocacy, negotiation, and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of construction estimating software
