About The Position

Texas Building Supply, a division of USLBM, serving the major markets in Texas with five building material yards and one window distribution facility across Austin, Houston, Dallas-Ft. Worth and San Antonio. . A Brief Overview A Door Assembly Supervisor will supervise the work of a team of door assemblers and leads. This position is responsible for overseeing the assembly process in an efficient manner. Shift: 2nd Shift Hours: 2:30pm - 11:00pm

Requirements

High School or equivalent work experience required.
5+ years of industry experience / door assembly required.
Must be able to read a tape measure and use a hammer.
Ability to learn to operate equipment such as routers, saws, presses, and staple guns.
Excellent teamwork, customer relationships, interpersonal and communication skills.
Good understanding of OSHA requirements.
Demonstration of leadership (all required): Mentor new associates
Willingness to train others
Safety committee engagement
Participation in US1 Continuous Improvement Projects
Forklift Certification
Must be able to safely operate forklift and pass certification upon hire.

Responsibilities

Lay out pre-hung door component supplies and materials on carts or floor.
Stock plates for component set-up.
Assemble components under the direction of the line leaders.
Load and band finished materials on carts/pallets inside and/or outside.
Receive incoming products, commodities, and materials.
Track materials per job and complete daily production schedule.
Maintain work area by keeping it neat and organized.
Assist in the set-up of component assembly process.
Monitor production workflow process assisting other areas as needed.
Operate all equipment necessary to the assembly process.
Assist in maintaining an organized work environment which may include emptying trash receptacles and keeping all bays/staging areas clean and organized.
Provide excellent customer service and participate in a positive work environment.
Monitor inventory as required by location management.
Retain an awareness of the work environment critical to the task at hand to produce error free and damage free results.
Responsible for supervising a team of 8+ associates (direct and indirect reports), with responsibility for budgeting, goal setting, and performance management, including providing feedback and input on hiring and terminations.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Participate in and complete assigned trainings.
