About The Position

The Door Assembler Apprenticeship is a structured, competency-based program that blends paid, on-the-job training with classroom instruction led by seasoned industry professionals. This one-year program follows a clear compensation path that rewards learning and skill mastery, starting at $18/hour and progressing to $22/hour as milestones are achieved. Apprentices will gain hands-on experience fabricating and assembling door systems, installing hardware, interpreting shop drawings and specifications, and applying safe work practices in both shop and field settings. The program is officially registered with the U.S. Department of Labor. What You’ll Learn Through 2,000 hours of on-the-job training and 144 hours of classroom and online instruction, apprentices will develop the technical and professional skills to become a qualified Door Assembler, including: Measuring, cutting, and assembling door frames and components Operating woodworking and door shop equipment Installing hardware, hinges, and locks Reading blueprints and following work orders Ensuring quality standards and accuracy Practicing OSHA and shop safety procedures Classroom instruction is provided through a combination of online and in-person training, covering topics like: OSHA 30-Hour General Industry PPE, Fire Safety, and Ladder Safety CPR, AED, and First Aid Certification Construction Math and Blueprint Reading Communication, Teamwork, and Accountability

Requirements

  • 17 years of age or older.
  • Ability to solve problems quickly and accurately.
  • Ability to properly care for and use tools of the trade.
  • Ability to understand carpentry principles and methods.
  • Works well as part of a team.
