Walt Churchill's Market is hiring a Part-Time Donut Fryer/Baker for our Perrysburg, OH location. Job Description: The Donut Fryer plays a key role in creating the fresh, high-quality donuts our customers love. This position is responsible for producing a full variety of donuts daily—frying, icing, finishing, and preparing special orders to meet customer demand. The Donut Fryer ensures consistency by following WCM recipes, techniques, and food safety standards, contributing to a clean, organized, and efficient bakery operation.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Previous baking experience required (Grocery, Bakery, or Restaurant setting)
  • Must be able to lift 30-50 pounds frequently, and occasionally 65 pounds
  • Must be available to work a Baker's shift (overnight/early mornings) and have holiday and weekend availability

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a donut shop with a sheeter, preferred but not required
  • ServSafe certification, preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers promptly, answering questions, and assisting with purchases
  • Making, frying, icing, and finishing donuts
  • Making donuts from dough mix or frozen dough
  • Making all varieties of donuts and determining which to fill and frost each day
  • Cleaning up the glazer and all other equipment related to the position
  • Filtering the donut grease each week
  • Preparing dough for the following day and communicating with the rest of the bakery department team
  • Following recipes to deliver on Walt Churchill's Market high-quality baked goods
  • Making/preparing store-made items such as cookies, rolls, breads, muffins, or other baked goods
  • Weighing, measuring, and mixing raw ingredients
  • Safely operate equipment, such as fryers, donut hopper, filter system, oven, and mixer
  • Bench work (scaling and shaping dough)
  • Assistance of receiving and optimizing bakery products in the freezer
  • Organizing and restocking supplies
  • Maintaining the stock and visual merchandising of the dessert, doughnut, pastry, and artisan bread cases
  • Maintaining general sanitation practices, food safety practices, and food storage practices within both store and health department standards
