About The Position
As a Donut Finisher at Hy-Vee, you will play a crucial role in the Bakery department, responsible for finishing donuts, bagels, and danishes that are sold to our valued customers. Your primary focus will be on ensuring that each product is prepared to the highest standards while also providing exceptional customer service. This position is non-exempt and requires a commitment to maintaining a positive company image through courteous, friendly, and efficient interactions with customers and team members alike. In this role, you will be expected to provide prompt and efficient service, treating every customer as the most important person in the store. You will greet customers with a smile, learn their names, and address them personally whenever possible. Your responsibilities will include preparing your work area and equipment for donut finishing, removing products from the freezer, and ensuring that all items are heated and garnished appropriately before they are displayed for sale. You will also be responsible for cleaning your work area and preparing for the next day’s operations, all while adhering to strict hygiene and dress guidelines set by the company. Additionally, you will work collaboratively with your co-workers to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment. This position does not have any direct reports, but you will be accountable to various managers within the store, including the District Store Director and Bakery Department Manager. Your ability to follow instructions, both written and verbal, will be essential in executing your duties effectively. You will also need to perform physical tasks that require medium work exertion, including lifting and moving objects as necessary. Overall, your role as a Donut Finisher is vital to the success of the Bakery department and the satisfaction of our customers.
