About The Position

The Donor Relations Officer is responsible for crafting a variety of Philanthropy Department collateral in support of fundraising campaigns across the Sutter Health network. The Donor Relations Officer brings experience in philanthropy writing or non-profit communications, preferably within a large healthcare organization. The Donor Relations Officer is comfortable working as part of collaborative project teams that can include frontline fundraisers, clinicians, and administrators. The Donor Relations Officer effectively combines information from internal content experts with their own external research to draft strategic communications that make complex healthcare projects not only understandable, but compelling for donors at all levels, especially those with the ability to make major contributions. The Donor Relations Officer has knowledge of best practices in the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of donors, and serves as the lead writer for case statements, proposals, impact reports, and other key donor communications as assigned. The Donor Relations Officer is an avid writer who is passionate about writing in their career and committed to continuous improvement. The Donor Relations Officer consistently delivers high-quality drafts on deadline, incorporating feedback from reviewers towards completion of a final product. In addition to their own portfolio of projects, the Donor Relations Officer may provide editing, proofreading, and writing assistance for colleagues to enhance their own efforts to craft effective philanthropy communications.
