About The Position

The Donor Relations & Engagement Manager plays a critical role in advancing the fundraising and engagement efforts of Communities In Schools of the Dallas Region (CISDallas) by ensuring exceptional donor stewardship, strong data management, and effective engagement strategies. This role is responsible for building and maintaining meaningful relationships with donors, volunteers, and partners while supporting the execution of fundraising campaigns, events, and development operations. The position contributes to a culture of philanthropy by strengthening donor experiences and ensuring operational excellence across all advancement activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 3–7 years of experience in nonprofit development, donor relations, or related fields; or a Master’s degree with relevant experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and highly organized with strong project management skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and donor databases (Raiser’s Edge and Salesforce preferred)
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 15 pounds
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and perform routine office movements throughout the day
  • Availability to work occasional extended hours as needed to meet goals
  • Ability to travel locally for meetings and events; reliable transportation required

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of the greater Dallas community and donor landscape preferred
  • Experience with direct mail campaigns is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Manage and optimize the donor database (Raiser’s Edge NXT and Salesforce), ensuring accurate gift entry, data integrity, reporting, and reconciliation with Finance.
  • Oversee all gift processing, including acknowledgments, tax receipts, and documentation.
  • Maintain comprehensive donor records, including contact information, engagement history, and communications.
  • Generate and distribute regular reports, including weekly donation analytics for leadership.
  • Conduct prospect research to identify new funding opportunities.
  • Support the implementation and execution of a comprehensive donor stewardship plan.
  • Coordinate donor communications, including acknowledgments, appeals, and ongoing engagement touchpoints (mail, phone, email, and in-person).
  • Track donor engagement and support meeting preparation and follow-ups.
  • Maintain and update organizational profiles on external platforms (e.g., Candid, Charity Navigator, Fidelity Charitable, YourCause).
  • Support execution of annual fundraising campaigns, including mid-year and year-end appeals and North Texas Giving Day.
  • Lead key seasonal initiatives such as Back-to-School Drives, Holiday Drives, and the Amazon Wishlist.
  • Track campaign performance and support donor communications related to campaigns.
  • Lead planning and execution of the annual Golf Tournament in partnership with the Director of Development and volunteer committee.
  • Coordinate event logistics, vendors, sponsorships, and timelines.
  • Support sponsorship fulfillment, including signage, recognition, and communications.
  • Manage the full volunteer lifecycle, including recruitment, screening, background checks, placement, and communication.
  • Collaborate with program staff to identify and fulfill volunteer needs.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for volunteers and assist with orientations.
  • Support strategies for volunteer engagement tied to donor cultivation and stewardship.
  • Maintain a grant tracking calendar to support timely submissions and reporting.
  • Oversee the in-kind donation process, including internal training, donor communication, tracking, and acknowledgment.
  • Collaborate across departments to support development and organizational priorities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
