About The Position

The Prospect Coordinator Intern plays an important role in advancing Atlanta Mission’s ability to engage, acquire, and cultivate new donors. By analyzing donor acquisition data, evaluating the effectiveness of prospecting strategies, and supporting the development of Salesforce dashboards, this role directly strengthens the ministry’s capacity to reach more people who can sustainably support the organization. Through data-driven insights and thoughtful analysis, the Prospect Coordinator intern helps ensure Atlanta Mission can faithfully steward relationships, optimize donor engagement pathways, and fuel long-term mission impact.

Requirements

  • Interest in data analysis, fundraising strategy, nonprofit management, or related fields.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work with data sets and learn Salesforce reporting and dashboard tools.
  • Clear communication skills for preparing presentations and written summaries.
  • Desire to understand donor engagement and contribute to mission-driven work.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in onboarding including Development OGSIM, prospect research basics, donor personas, and Salesforce training.
  • Analyze Atlanta Mission’s existing prospecting funnel with a focus on donor acquisition and conversion trends.
  • Conduct deep dives into all acquisition channels, including Masterworks, events, volunteering, phone outreach, and other engagement strategies.
  • Identify and determine key metrics and data sets required for evaluating acquisition effectiveness.
  • Pull reports, create dashboards, and analyze donor data using Salesforce.
  • Summarize findings in a clear and actionable format, including trends, insights, and performance indicators.
  • Develop a comprehensive final presentation featuring:
  • Analysis of acquisition strategies
  • SWOT analysis
  • Recommendations for optimizing the prospecting funnel
  • A fully built Salesforce dashboard for ongoing organizational use
  • Participate in Development Team rhythms, including weekly check-ins, optional 1:1s with leadership, and exposure to stewardship, engagement strategy, and marketing functions.
