About The Position

Donor Experience Officer (DXO) DESCRIPTION: The Annual Giving team at The Citadel Foundation is seeking a passionate and driven Donor Experience Officer to join our organization. This position combines digital-first communication efforts with innovative workflows to build relationships, execute outreach to alumni and friends of The Citadel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution of higher education
  • Ability to relate to people of diverse backgrounds, training, and experience
  • Skill in exercising a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion, and decision-making to achieve organizational objectives
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and other desktop computing software
  • Enthusiasm and excellent people skills are essential; successful candidate must have flexibility to handle the needs of a fast-paced work environment and the individual needs of donors
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and to lead and motivate others
  • Some evening and weekend work is required
  • Affinity for the mission and core values of The Citadel and The Citadel Foundation

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in annual giving and/or higher education institutional advancement
  • Experience with Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge, GiveCampus and/or EverTrue
  • Additional experience in fundraising, public relations, and/or marketing
  • At least two years of experience in related development/fundraising, preferably within higher education or in a sales role
  • Familiarity with The Citadel and/or similar military-focused organizations

Responsibilities

  • Actively engage and manage a portfolio of over 800 prospects
  • Cultivate relationships with these donors via email, phone, social media, video conferencing, texting, and EverTrue's cloud platform
  • Work toward clear metrics and goals for outreach, donor meetings, dollars raised, donor count, prospect qualification, and engagement
  • Develop and maintain broad knowledge of The Citadel, such as admissions, athletics, academic programs, and alumni engagement activity
  • Provide information on The Citadel relative to donor interests and share upcoming opportunities to attend events, volunteer, participate in alumni activities/services, or otherwise deepen their engagement with The Citadel
  • Work closely with the Director of Annual Giving to help develop and manage goals and strategy for The Citadel Foundation's Annual Fund
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to include special projects and events to assist in the overall fundraising efforts within the Annual Giving team
