Requirements

  • Education: High School or equivalent required. Associate’s/Bachelor’s degree in a science or health care field is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of related experience in blood banking/ collections, laboratory testing, medical records, auditing, quality review or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
  • Skills & Abilities: Ability to work on a team. The ability to read, write and verbally communicate at the high school to college level is required. Intermediate to advanced level computer skills with Microsoft Office applications in a Windows environment is required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist coordinating the daily operations, including biologic product deviation notifications and addressing concerns, to ensure tasks are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Supports the timely management of product level investigation under ARC inventory.
  • Coordinate the identification, control, notification and retrieval of suspect products.
  • Identify suspect products by reviewing donor deferral records
  • Perform retrieval activities related to product complaints including bacterial detection cases.
  • May correct, update and verify changes in donor records to ensure appropriate entry and confidential handling of data.
  • May assist with donor reentry and reinstatement.
