About The Position

The position involves ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, maintaining high levels of customer service, and ensuring a clean and professional work environment. The role includes monitoring donor conditions, maintaining donor confidentiality, and performing various tasks related to plasma collection and product processing. The individual will be responsible for troubleshooting equipment, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring donor eligibility based on established procedures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
  • Three (3) months' experience in clerical or customer service position preferred.
  • Specific certification or licensing based on State requirements.
  • Basic computer knowledge and skills required.
  • Ability to speak, read, write (legibly and accurately), and understand English required.
  • Strong customer service skills required.
  • Strong organizational skills required.
  • Ability to read, follow, and interpret regulations, instructions and manuals required.
  • Ability to understand verbal instruction required.
  • Ability to read numbers on screening equipment and perform basic mathematical calculations required.
  • Effective communication skills required.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure total operation is compliant with state and federal regulations (e.g. FDA approved Standard Operating Procedures, OSHA, CLIA, and GMP).
  • Maintain high level of customer service and positive donor experience.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work area and stock supplies.
  • Maintain Donor Center equipment based on Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Monitor donor conditions to ensure comfort, safety, and quality of plasma product.
  • Maintain donor confidentiality based on company policy.
  • Keep complete and accurate records per company's Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Troubleshoot machine alarms/alerts and perform routine quality controls on equipment.
  • Clean blood or plasma spills and dispose of biohazardous waste properly.
  • Ensure donor meets eligibility criteria and perform vitals evaluation.
  • Register applicant donors per Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Set up and prepare equipment for venipuncture and plasmapheresis procedures.
  • Disconnect donor after plasmapheresis process is completed.
  • Operate automated plasmapheresis machines and respond to alarms and donor adverse events.
  • Collect and store plasma product and samples per Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Organize samples and product in storage freezers.
  • Prepare product and samples for shipments according to regulations.
  • Monitor freezer and refrigerator temperatures and inform personnel of issues.
