About The Position

Octapharma Plasma is seeking a Donor Center Technician to join our growing team. As a Donor Center Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, maintaining high levels of customer service, and ensuring a clean and professional work environment. You will also be responsible for monitoring donor conditions, maintaining equipment, and ensuring the safety and quality of plasma products.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
  • Three (3) months' experience in clerical or customer service position preferred.
  • Specific certification or licensing based on State requirements.
  • Basic computer knowledge and skills required.
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English required.
  • Strong customer service skills required.
  • Strong organizational skills required.
  • Ability to read, follow, and interpret regulations and instructions required.
  • Ability to understand verbal instructions required.
  • Ability to read numbers on screening equipment and perform basic mathematical calculations required.
  • Effective communication skills required.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures total operation is compliant with state and federal regulations (e.g. FDA approved Standard Operating Procedures, OSHA, CLIA, and GMP).
  • Maintains high level of customer service and positive donor experience.
  • Maintains cleanliness of work area and stocks supplies.
  • Maintains Donor Center equipment based on Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Monitors donor conditions to ensure comfort and safety.
  • Maintains donor confidentiality.
  • Keeps complete and accurate records.
  • Troubleshoots machine alarms/alerts and performs routine quality checks.
  • Cleans blood or plasma spills and disposes of biohazardous waste properly.
  • Performs donor eligibility checks and vitals evaluations.
  • Sets up and prepares equipment for plasmapheresis procedures.
  • Disconnects donors after plasmapheresis.
  • Operates automated plasmapheresis machines and responds to alarms.
  • Handles and organizes plasma product and samples for storage and shipment.
