About The Position

Octapharma Plasma is seeking a Donor Center Technician to join our growing team. As a Donor Center Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, maintaining a high level of customer service, and ensuring donor comfort and safety. You will also be involved in the plasma collection process, product processing, and maintaining accurate records. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
  • Three months' experience in clerical or customer service position preferred.
  • Specific certification or licensing based on State requirements.
  • Basic computer knowledge and skills required.
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English required.
  • Strong customer service and organizational skills required.
  • Ability to read, follow, and interpret regulations and instructions.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a healthcare or medical environment.
  • Familiarity with plasma collection procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures total operation is compliant with state and federal regulations (e.g. FDA approved Standard Operating Procedures, OSHA, CLIA, and GMP).
  • Maintains high level of customer service and positive donor experience.
  • Maintains cleanliness of work area and stocks supplies.
  • Monitors donor conditions and ensures donor comfort and safety.
  • Maintains donor confidentiality and accurate record keeping.
  • Troubleshoots machine alarms/alerts and performs routine quality checks.
  • Cleans blood or plasma spills and disposes of biohazardous waste.
  • Performs donor vitals evaluation and registers applicant donors.
  • Sets up and prepares equipment for venipuncture and plasmapheresis procedures.
  • Operates automated plasmapheresis machines and responds to alarms.
  • Handles tested and untested plasma products and organizes samples.
  • Monitors freezer and refrigerator temperatures.
