About The Position

Morgan Stanley Wealth Management offers a Donor Advised Fund, the Morgan Stanley Global Impact Funding Trust (“DAF” or “MS GIFT”). MS GIFT is a charitable investment fund which provides a flexible and tax-aware vehicle for charitable giving. The Donor Advised Fund solution enhances the ways that Morgan Stanley can provide its Wealth Management clientele with holistic modern wealth advice and augments the depth and breadth of a Financial Advisor’s relationship with clients. It is also a valuable advisory tool. The Donor Advised Fund program team sits within the Advisory business, facilitating close collaboration with portfolio management, platforms, sales, trading, advisor education, private markets, and both institutional and retail client services. The team also works hand-in-hand with the Philanthropy Management team. The Donor Advised Fund business is seeking a Product Manager Vice President to join the team to support and drive the continued growth of the offering and the execution of its business strategy. The hire will be involved in and/or have a leadership stake across the various aspects of running an effective business. This includes business strategy development, as well as every step of business implementation, including development of effective management presentations and Field-facing presentations, budgeting and modeling, relationship management, marketing, and sales. The hire will represent the business in engagements with Financial Advisors, internal and external partners, and investors. Requirements

  • Work experience in the investment advisory or asset management spaces, and commensurate knowledge of financial markets, the nature of business and client relationships in this industry, products involved, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing work environments, with a willingness to learn new skills in order to meet evolving business needs
  • Goal-oriented, self-motivated, solutions driven individual with excellent problem-solving skills, who can “think like an owner” and lead strategy development/program analysis
  • Collaborative and team-oriented, with the ability to run workstreams independently that contribute to a larger initiative or goal
  • Strong project management skills - ability to develop detailed action plans, set reasonable deadlines, follow-up with key stakeholders, and manage deliverables and expectations
  • Exceptional communication (oral and written) skills, including the ability to interact professionally with Financial Advisors and UHNW clients, to collaborate with colleagues at every level of the organization including senior leadership, and to author policy/technical documents
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills conducive to working on multiple projects with concurrent and competing deadlines
  • Ability to build, analyze and interpret data sets
  • Demonstrates consummate professionalism while representing Morgan Stanley when interfacing with Financial Advisors, Home Office partners, clients, and external partners
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications: e.g. the ability to create a management deck with Powerpoint; the ability to use Excel to work with and analyze large data sets
  • BA/BS degree in Finance or related field, or similar work experience
  • Series 7 license preferred, or willingness to attain such license
  • 3-8 years of experience preferred

Nice To Haves

  • Tax, estate, charitable planning experience, and/or Donor Advised Fund experience would be beneficial
  • Work experience in the Wealth Management Field environment preferred (i.e. how Financial Advisors run their practices; systems and platforms utilized; management and risk org structures) – and/or ability to acquire this knowledge

Responsibilities

  • lead key business initiatives in a project management capacity (e.g. technology and program enhancements; offering expansions) from ideation to implementation, including: competitive market analyses; revenue and expense modeling; design of supervisory frameworks; development of project timelines; acquisition of senior leadership consensus; and management/oversight of workstreams through completion
  • develop strategic presentations for senior leadership, and the MS GIFT Board of Directors, both to pitch/implement product development and to report/socialize business results
  • engage regularly with Financial Advisors to deliver product education, communicate evolving product strategy aligned with the market and tax environments, and drive product sales (e.g. Field-facing presentations; addressing Financial Advisor inquiries; joining investor/prospect product pitch meetings)
  • design and execute cross-functional product and sales strategy (e.g. with portfolio managers, private markets partners, OCIO, tax/trust/estate planning specialists, etc.)
  • liaise in a relationship management capacity with internal and external partners, including provision of oversight/management of third-party partners which support key components of the DAF solution
  • develop marketing collateral that strategically positions the product which Financial Advisors can leverage
  • engage investors (e.g. whitepapers, social media, marketing flyers)
  • partner with Legal, Risk and Compliance constituents to design and maintain supervisory models and policy frameworks conducive to risk-aligned oversight of the program
  • build and monitor analytics/reporting that track business metrics and KPI delivery
