About The Position

The Donation Services Associate is the first point of contact for customers at retail centers, responsible for providing excellent customer service during the donation process. This role involves assisting customers with unloading donations, ensuring items are handled with care, and maintaining a clean and organized donation area. Associates also inspect donations for quality and sort them appropriately for sale or distribution.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of retail experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills for logging into systems and sending emails.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions and temperatures.
• Ability to use safety equipment for lifting heavy objects.
• Effective communication skills with customers and team members.
• Willingness to work a varied schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays.

• Familiarity with donation processing and retail operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers in a timely manner and answering product questions.
• Assist customers by unloading donations from vehicles or other areas.
• Handle donated items with care and sort them into appropriate bins or production areas.
• Inspect all donations and make decisions on quality for sorting.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and clean environment for customers and employees.
• Manage remote donation centers, following opening and closing procedures.
• Keep supplies well stocked at remote sites as necessary.
• Track and report donation levels daily to prevent overstocking.
• Follow all retail center policies and procedures.
• Adhere to safety processes and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
• Cross-train in other departments or areas as required.
