About The Position

Under the Director of Transportation & Logistics, the Donation Coordinator will plan, implement and direct activities to maximize collection of donated goods throughout the Goodwill Industries of Central Florida territory through the use of donation drives, community events, BIN pickups, and other ventures which accomplishes the goal of expanding donated goods product flow. Contribute to the on-site facilitation of donation opportunities by providing exceptional service to donors, prompt professional coordination, and collaborate with the Transportation and Donor Xpress team to measure results. Specifically provides timely preparation and operations oversight of donations for the organization.

Requirements

  • Possess excellent interpersonal communication skills; establish and maintain effective relationships with external customers.

  • High School education or equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of two (2) years retail and one (1) year supervisory experience.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • intermediate knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
  • Vision abilities required by this job include: close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Standing and walking for long periods of time.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business documents. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and public.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and oversee donation drives, bin collection, churches and other donation initiatives.
  • Measure the success of the initiatives implemented throughout the year
  • Exercise discretion regarding acceptance and/or disposition of donated goods and maintains donor relationship through attentive customer service.
  • Analyze information, problem solve, organize and implement strategies to effectively expand the procurement of donated goods program by optimizing the use of GICF’s resources.
  • Work closely with the Transportation Manager and Donated Goods Manager to schedule donation events and the incoming flow of product.
  • Increase the Public’s awareness of Goodwill Industries mission services.
  • Maintain well groomed appearance and appropriate business dress code including name badge.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude, self-motivation, organization, and resourcefulness while maintaining a reputation through proven action of being customer service oriented.
  • Compile data and submission of reports in a timely fashion.
  • Oversee temporary or weekend donation sites through community partnerships.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Transportation & Logistics.
  • Serve as the agency liaison to other groups and other business pickups.
